The changes to crime fees announced as part of the MoJ’s climb-down on criminal contracting come into force on 1 April. The second 8.75% fee cut, imposed last July, is reversed – but only for cases starting on or after 1 April. Cases starting before that date will continue to be paid the reduced fees. The revised fees are set out in the schedules to the Criminal Legal Aid (Remuneration) (Amendment) Regulations 2016.
