Borderline civil cases to go in January

The draft Civil Legal Aid (Merits Criteria) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 have been published; they amend the merits tests for civil legal aid to remove funding from borderline cases. They are due to come into force on 27th January 2014; practitioners dealing with cases that might be classed as borderline would be wise to get applications in before then.
