Law for All goes into administration

The Gazette is reporting that Law for All, the solicitor advice agency, has gone into administration. If so, it would be the second high profile collapse of a major legal aid supplier this month, following on from the Immigration Advisory Service. Even before the implementation of a 10% fee cut, it demonstrates once again the difficulties of operating in legal aid.

UPDATE, 29th July: Law for All have now put a statement on their website confirming that they are in administration because, as a result of the difficulties of operating in legal aid, plus coming fee cuts and scope cuts, “there is no hope of a viable long-term future”. A sad day, and probably not the last.
